Despite the excitement of discovering Pokemon Go’s new beach biome in unexpected locations, players have encountered a significant obstacle.
Players of Pokemon Go who do not reside near the coast may have a higher chance of encountering the game’s new beach biomes than they realize.
As a result of the ongoing Rediscover Go event, numerous real-world locations now appear more lifelike on the game’s map and during encounters. However, some players have noticed that beach biomes are unexpectedly appearing in various areas.
According to one player who shared their discovery on Reddit, golf courses can sometimes be considered as beaches. They explained that while working at a golf course inland, they have noticed the Beach Biome screen appearing when catching Pokémon.
Additional commenters mentioned discovering beach biomes at various golf courses and sandy areas such as volleyball courts, leading another to come to the conclusion that “biomes can unexpectedly appear in diverse locations.”
Although there is a condition. Niantic incorporated Gen 9’s Wiglett and Wugtrio into the mobile game in their biome update, thus making these Pokemon exclusive to the newly added beach biome. Despite the possibility of finding beaches in unexpected locations, players should not anticipate encountering Wiglett there.
As it has been found by players, Wiglett can only be found in locations designated by the game as “natural=beach”or “natural=coastline.”Unfortunately, these areas do not include golf courses or volleyball courts, even though they may resemble beach biomes. Therefore, the elusive Garden Eel Pokemon cannot be found in these locations.
Despite this significant drawback, this finding should still motivate those eager to discover all of the new biomes to explore their local neighborhoods. Among the numerous updates to Pokemon Go, such as the controversial redesign of avatars, the addition of biomes and improved backgrounds have been regarded as positive developments.
For a lot of people, these updated visual features enhance the game’s immersion, and it’s reassuring to know that players living inland won’t be left out entirely.
