Pokemon Go dev shuts down declining profit rumors & reveals 10-year plan

The executives at Niantic have officially stated that Pokemon Go is performing well and dismissed speculations of decreasing profits. They have also promised exciting and improved features for the game in the upcoming decade.

As the 10th anniversary of Pokemon Go approaches, Ed Wu, Senior Vice President at Niantic, spoke about the future plans for the groundbreaking game in the next decade. He reassured fans that there are exciting developments on the horizon.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Ed Wu discussed the future of Pokemon Go. This came after backlash from the community regarding the Remote Raid Pass nerf in 2023 and reports of a significant decline in Niantic’s earnings.

The senior VP addressed and dispelled these claims, while also outlining the company’s ambitious future plans. Wu stated, “We are heavily investing in ensuring that it is an exceptional game with strong foundations that will sustain for the next decade.”

As the popular mobile game approaches its 10th anniversary, Wu expressed their plans for the future. They stated, “As we prepare for this milestone, we aim to revitalize the game to match the next decade.”Additionally, they emphasized their focus on further personalizing the game.

“We are upgrading our avatar system to provide an enhanced experience with updated assets. This modern system will allow for more customization options.”

Referring to the much-discussed decrease in earnings, Wu confidently stated, “Despite what some third-party reports may claim, I can assure you that they are incorrect. These reports lack access to our data, particularly non-mobile numbers, which is why they do not accurately reflect the growth of Pokemon GO, including during last spring when we saw success with Go Tour 2024: Sinnoh.”

As the Go Fest 2024 extravaganza approaches, gamers are anticipating continued growth and improved communication with its fans for years to come in the world of Pokemon Go.
