Pokemon Go developers announce upcoming in-person event in Brazil

Pokemon Go has revealed their intention to bring the largest live event ever seen in the Latam region to São Paulo, Brazil, in December 2024.

Pokemon Go is dedicated to expanding its community in Brazil, as it plans to host a new in-person event in São Paulo in December 2024. This upcoming celebration is expected to be the largest event ever held in the country.

On June 28, 2024, during its conference at Gamescom LATAM, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, announced plans to hold its largest in-person event ever in Brazil.

The conference was spearheaded by Alan Madujano, Head of Operations for LATAM, along with Eric Araki, Country Manager for Brazil, and Leonardo Willie, the Community Manager for Emerging Markets.

During the panel, it was announced that Brazil will be hosting its biggest in-person event to date in São Paulo, the country’s heart and the largest city in the region.

In the last six months, Brazil and the rest of LATAM have emerged as significant markets for Pokemon Go, and the team is eager to show their appreciation for the dedication and commitment of their fans.

Eric Araki started by expressing his gratitude for the overwhelming support from the local community throughout the year, indicating a strong desire for more from our fans. Although he could not reveal all the specifics of the upcoming event, he did hint that it would be a city-wide affair in São Paulo.

Additionally, we are maintaining a close partnership with the Civil House of the City of São Paulo and the SYN Proptech network of shopping centers.

The panelists announced that new features will be available for Brazilian fans in the upcoming months. Additionally, Araki emphasized the grand scale of the event they have planned for Brazilian players in December 2024.

“We are confident that this will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we extend our invitation to all individuals across the country to join us in celebrating!”
