Diancie, a Gen 6 Mythical, is among the elusive creatures in Pokemon Go. It was first introduced during the Go Fest 2023, making it one of the rarest monsters in the game.
Despite trainers having a brief chance to encounter Diancie through the paid Go Fest 2023 ticket, this Rock/Fairy-type has not been catchable in the mobile game since then.
Fortunately, Niantic has revealed a fresh Global Special Research event featuring Diancie, providing trainers with another opportunity to encounter this elusive Mythical Pokémon and earn fantastic rewards in the process.

As stated on the official Pokemon Go blog, all trainers will have access to this free Special Research quest beginning on May 1, 2024 at 10 AM in their local time.

Similarly to all other Special Research quests, there is no set time limit and the quest will not expire, allowing fans to take their time and complete the various tasks and challenges at their own pace.

Trainers can anticipate Diancie-themed Field Research tasks beginning at 12 AM on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 and ending at 11:59 PM on Friday, May 3, 2024, according to local time.
These specialized Field Research tasks will be accessible to players by spinning the Photo Discs at PokeStops. They offer the opportunity for fans to obtain Diancie Mega Energy and encounter Carbink, a Pokemon closely linked with Diancie.
