A busy event schedule awaits Pokémon Go players. Between Community Day, Raids, Featured Hours and one-off events, here is what awaits you in January 2024.
The years go by, but Niantic’s essential mobile game is far from running out of steam, as millions of trainers continue to experience thrilling adventures.
To keep this huge community busy, Pokémon Go is regularly updated, notably with numerous events which always bring their share of new features.

New Year 2024
- Dates: January 1 to 3
- Hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The new year promises to be an exciting one in Pokémon Go thanks to this event highlighting many iconic Pokémon. Jigglypuff and Grodoudou will be entitled to a new costume, many baby Pokémon (Pichu, Melo, Togepi, etc.) will be in the 7km Eggs, and costumed Pokémon whose first generation starters will be in the Raids.
Community Day
- Date: January 6
- Hours: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The adorable Plant and Fly starter from the seventh generation is featured at the next Community Day. This is the ideal opportunity to capture many Brindibou in order to obtain Efflèche and Archéduc.

Beaded Odyssey
- Dates: January 6 to 10
- Hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Pearly Odyssey event will bring a breath of fresh air to Pokémon Go, with changes to Pokémon in the wild, in Raids and even in Eggs. Raid Day: Hisui Typhlosion
- Date: January 14
- Hours: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Raid Day is an unmissable event for fans of Raid battles in Pokémon Go. Get free Passes by spinning Photodiscs and go against Hisui’s Typhlosion in 5-star Raids.
In addition, the Pokémon on display always has an increased shiny appearance rate. This is the perfect opportunity to get your hands on a chromatic Hisui Typhlosion.
Sparkling dream
- Dates: January 13 to 16
- Hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Fairy Pokémon are in the spotlight during the Shimmering Dream event. Don’t miss this opportunity to catch Bombydou, whose shiny form is introduced for the occasion.
Classic Community Day
- Date: January 20
- Hours: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Classic Community Day is similar in every way to Community Day, with the exception that it highlights a Pokémon that has already had its event in the past.

GO Combat Week: Journey out of time
- Dates: January 19 to 24
- Hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
For a week, PvP enthusiasts in Pokémon Go will be able to have fun, since the Super, Hyper and Master Leagues will be available simultaneously.
Trainers preferring PvE will not be left out either, with the arrival of Courrousinge in Pokémon Go, and a renewal of Pokémon in Raids.

Dark Raids Weekend: Ho-Oh
- Dates: January 27 to 28
- Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The essential legendary Pokémon of the second generation Ho-Oh will invade the 5-star Dark Raids for the last weekend of January.
Prepare your best Rock-type Pokémon to face this powerful monster and hope to catch it.
Stolen treasures
- Dates: January 27 to February 1
- Hours: Midnight to 11:59 p.m.

Pokémon Go Featured Hours in January 2024
There are five Featured Hours to look forward to this month in Pokémon Go, which we’ve listed below:
- January 2: Morphéo
- January 9: Eevee
- 16 janvier: Tarsal
- 23 janvier: Barloche
- January 30: Trompignon
Les Heures Vedettes takes place every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. Prepare by stockpiling Poké Balls and making room in your Pokémon storage.

Pokémon Go Raid Hours in January 2024
Participating in Raid Hours is a great way to capture legendary Pokémon. There are four Raid Hours to look forward to this month in Pokémon Go:
- Wednesday January 3: Cancrelove, Mouscoto, Câbllifer
- Wednesday January 10: Boréas
- Wednesday 17 January: Fulguris
- Wednesday January 24: Landores
Raid Hours are from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. During this hour, the featured Pokémon will appear more frequently in Raid Battles in Gyms.

Study Phase Rewards for January 2024
Study Phases allow trainers who complete Field Studies to benefit from a weekly meeting. There are six potential rewards for January 2024: Galar Smogogo, Mr. Mime, Lokhlass, Couafarel, Slime and Babycaille. You will get one of these random Pokémon encounters.
To obtain a Study Phase, you will need to complete seven Field Research tasks during the month of January. If you complete one each day, you can get up to four encounters during the month.
