Pokemon Go constantly introduces new species, shinies, and rewards with special limited-time events throughout each season. It can be challenging to stay updated on all the new content being added to the mobile game.
The schedule for upcoming Pokemon Go events in August 2024 can be found below.

Niantic has already announced all of the events planned for August 2024, but at the moment, we only have details about a few of them. Adventure Week is returning to showcase Fossil Pokemon such as Cranidos, Shieldon, Tirtouga, Archen, Tyrunt, and Amaura.
Pokemon Go Adventure Week is back in 2024.
Following Adventure Week 2024, trainers will be challenged by Team Go Rocket in a Takeover event that will update the teams of Leaders Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo, as well as Boss Giovanni. This event will also include a Shadow Raid Weekend showcasing Shadow Suicune.
However, the August Community Day has been designated for Popplio, although the developers have not yet disclosed which Pokemon will be the featured creature for the August Community Day Classic event.

Every Tuesday from 6 PM to 7 PM (local time), trainers can participate in the Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour, a weekly event that features boosted spawns of a specific species and a special bonus for collecting Candy, XP, Stardust, and other rewards.

In Pokemon Go, species that are indicated with (*) have the potential to be shiny.
Raid Hours occur on a weekly basis, happening every Wednesday between 6 PM and 7 PM (local time). During this time, all Gyms with ongoing Raids will showcase the current 5-Star Raid boss, providing consistent opportunities for players to capture rare and formidable species.
Legendary Pokemon Xerneas is back in Raids in August 2024.
When is the next in-person Pokemon Go event?
- Pikachu’s Indonesia Journey (August 24 – August 25)
- Pokemon Go City Safari: Jakarta (September 21 – September 22)
- Pokemon Go City Safari: Incheon (September 27 – September 29)
Following Pikachu’s successful journey in Indonesia, the next upcoming in-person events will be two Pokemon Go City Safaris, taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia and Incheon, South Korea in September 2024. These events will continue to bring excitement and adventure to players all over the world.
The upcoming events will showcase rare Pokemon such as Flying Pikachu, Tropius, and Skiddo. These ticketed events require a General Admission ticket to access the designated locations and enjoy exclusive features and bonuses. This allows players the opportunity to capture these elusive Pokemon.
Following the City Safari, it is anticipated that Niantic will reveal a new live event for Pokemon Go Tour, showcasing Unova species. As soon as these details are announced, we will update this guide accordingly.
