Niantic has announced the Go Big event, which will introduce Dynamax and Max Battles to Pokemon Go for the first time.
The main feature of Sword and Shield was Dynamax, which enabled Pokemon to increase in size and utilize stronger attacks. This Galar mechanic will now be incorporated into the mobile game through the upcoming Max Out season.
To introduce this feature to the game, Pokemon Go will be holding an event known as Go Big, which will include the addition of the first Dynamax Pokemon and Max Battles.

Dates and Times
According to the official Pokemon Go blog, Go Big will start at 10 am on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 and will end at 8 pm on Sunday, September 15, 2024, based on local time.
This means that Go Big will begin immediately after the Go All Out event concludes.
# Dynamax Debuts
Go Big is introducing the first set of Dynamax Pokemon, which will be available through one-star Max Battles.
- Bulbasaur*
- Charmander*
- Squirtle*
- Skwovet*
- Wooloo*
Items that are marked with an asterisk have the potential to be Shiny.
Max Out Special Research
The event will also unveil a Special Research task named Max Out. Although details have not been disclosed, players will need to engage in Max Battles to collect Max Particles and other rewards, including a new avatar item resembling a Dynamax Band.
Max Out will be accessible at no cost to all players. You will just need to participate in the game before the season concludes on December 3, 2024, at 9:59 am in your local time zone in order to unlock it.
Event Bonuses
During Go Big, the following bonuses will be in effect:
- 2× XP for winning a Max Battle
- 2× XP for spinning PokéStops
Field Research Task Encounters
Additionally, themed Field Research tasks will be accessible throughout the duration of the event.
