The disappearance of Gyms and PokeStops in Pokemon Go due to a bug is frustrating players, leaving them with nothing to do and causing annoyance.
Both Poke Stops and Berries are crucial in-game features for obtaining Poke Balls and catching Pokemon. Some harder-to-find Pokemon, such as Kecleon and Gimmighoul, can only be located by visiting Poke Stops.
Therefore, numerous players voiced their grievances when Reddit user ‘EmptyRook’ inquired the community about their experiences with a bug that caused Gyms and PokeStops to disappear.
Trainers reported encountering this issue multiple times per day, including when giving Berries to Gym Defenders.
Providing Berries to Pokemon is a widespread practice as it aids in keeping Gym Defenders in place, resulting in trainers receiving 50 PokeCoins and sometimes even Candy.
However, it seems that the bug is exacerbating the situation, especially for Gyms. One player expressed frustration, stating, “The bug is already bad enough, but when you combine it with the other bug where the app can’t handle a failed gym load (which has been an ongoing issue since the gym redesign in 2017), it becomes maddening.”
Despite restarting the game, some players still faced difficulties in restoring normalcy. It took multiple attempts before they were able to find Gyms and PokeStops again.
Despite fans criticizing this “irritating”issue and questioning why certain things “malfunction”periodically, there were also many theories proposed as to the cause of the bug.
A user speculated that Niantic may be adding new code to the game, possibly in preparation for a new feature coming this year. However, other users pointed out that the mentioned “feature”was actually Dynamax, the Gen 8 gimmick set to debut in the future.
Despite the frustration of this bug, you still have the option to participate in PvP battles through the Pokemon Go Battle League or encounter Team Rocket Grunts via their appearing balloons.
