Pokemon Go has unveiled exciting details about the upcoming second phase of its 2024 Halloween event, notably featuring the introduction of Gigantamax Gengar.
Continuing the Halloween tradition, these in-game festivities will revolve around Ghost and Dark-type Pokémon. However, players can also look forward to special costumed variants of Vulpix, Pichu, and Froakie throughout the event, along with various enticing bonuses.

Dates & Times for Halloween 2024 Part 2
The Halloween 2024 Part 2 event kicks off on Monday, October 28, at 10 AM and concludes on November 3 at 8 AM local time.
This means players will have a single week to accomplish all tasks and maximize the bonuses available during the event.
New Pokemon Arrivals
Halloween Part 2 will see the debut of additional costumed Pokémon, including Froakie and Rowlet.
Players lucky enough to catch them can also snag shiny variants, which can be evolved using 25 and 100 candy respectively for their second and third-stage evolutions.
Max Battles: Gigantamax Gengar Introduction
Gigantamax Gengar will be introduced during Halloween Part 2, available in six-star Max Battles from October 31 at 10 AM through November 3 at 8 PM local time, with a chance of encountering its shiny form.
Bonuses During the Event
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- Boosted odds of encountering Shiny Zorua in the wild.
- Increased likelihood for Trainers level 31 and above to earn Candy XL for catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better.
Shiny rates will also see an increase for these Pokémon:
- Gengar in a Spooky Festival costume
- Umbreon
- Drifblim in a Halloween Mischief costume
- Froakie in a Halloween costume
- Rowlet in a Halloween costume
The following Pokémon will have a greater chance of being shiny when hatched from eggs:
- Vulpix in a Spooky Festival costume
- Pichu with a witch hat
- Froakie in a Halloween costume
- Rowlet in a Halloween costume
On October 31 exclusively, all costumed Pokémon caught will have a chance to yield Rare Candy or Rare Candy XL when caught with Nice Throws or better.

The frequency of wild encounters for the following Pokémon will increase, with no Shiny restrictions:
- Vulpix in a Spooky Festival costume
- Shuppet
- Piplup in a Halloween Mischief costume
- Woobat
- the floor
- Froakie in a Halloween costume
- Inkay
- Phantump
- Pumpkaboo in a Spooky Festival costume
- Rowlet in a Halloween costume

Raid Encounters
With the start of Halloween 2024 Part 2 on October 28, one and three-star Raids will refresh, featuring the following:

- Froakie in a Halloween costume
- Rowlet in a Halloween costume
Three-Star Raids
- Gengar in a Spooky Festival costume
- Umbreon
- Drifblim in a Halloween Mischief costume
As with the wild encounters, there are also no restrictions on Shiny Pokémon here.
Free Timed Research
Part 2 will not introduce new Free Timed Research but will continue the hunt for Spiritomb and its 108 spirits initiated in Part 1. Players completing the specified tasks between October 22 and November 3 will unlock encounters with Spiritomb and Morpeko.
