With the highly-anticipated release of Dynamax and Gigantamax forms in Pokemon Go, recent leaks have revealed the initial group of species set to appear in the upcoming Raid battles.
Despite being a Gen 8 gimmick, Dynamax will still allow players to encounter certain Gen 1 species in Raids, including the beloved Bulbasaur family.
Dynamax (DMax) is a phenomenon in which a Pokemon transforms into a colossal form with a heightened HP stat, much like Raid Bosses. However, their battle moves also gain additional effects. Gigantamax (GMax) functions similarly to Dynamax, but it also alters the appearance of the specific species.
According to a post from The Pokemod Group, the first species to receive the Dynamax treatment in Pokemon Go will be Bulbasaur. Additionally, the post revealed that the developers at Niantic are using the code word “Bread”to refer to Dynamax and have created tier groups for this feature.
Bulbasaur is the first Pokémon to receive a configuration for “Bread”(Dynamax). The configuration is related to “BreadTierGroups,”which for Bulbasaur has been defined as “GROUP_1”https://t.co/FFqY6MscqG#Datamine #PokemonGO pic.twitter.com/SkGK2Atrix

The update sparked excitement within the community, leading to speculation that the tier groups mentioned in the leaks could potentially reveal the final evolution of the beloved starter. One fan even suggested, “If true, this could mean that Bulbasaur will evolve into a GMax Venusaur.”
It would be logical to introduce Venusaur as the debut GMax form, since Bulbasaur is the first Pokemon in the Pokedex.
In addition to Pikachu, Eevee, Butterfree, Machamp, and Kingler, the first wave of Dmax and GMax in the game is expected to include the other starters, Charizard and Blastoise, as well as some popular Gen 1 species. These highly sought-after forms are likely to make their debut in the next Season, beginning on September 3, 2024.
As you anticipate the official release of Dynamax and Gigantamax in Pokemon Go, make sure to keep your Gen 1 species with perfect IVs and shininess, as they may prove to be strong contenders for Raids and Team Go Rocket battles.
