Pokemon Go is known for its ever-changing nature, with events, raids, and regular seasons keeping players on their toes. Recently, Niantic has made a quiet but significant fix to a major issue surrounding Mega Lucario, much to the excitement of fans.
In 2020, the introduction of Mega Pokemon transformed the game for countless players. These coveted creatures were highly sought after within the community. Yet, obtaining these rare Pocket Monsters required a significant amount of effort, as great power often does.
After causing frustration for countless trainers, Mega Lucario was ultimately discovered to be just as challenging. However, dedicated fans soon found a solution by making Lucario their buddy and earning Mega Energy that way. This allowed trainers who had already Mega evolved Lucario once to repeat the process multiple times.
Although many players complained about the tedious evolution process and the small amount of Mega Energy they could earn, it still felt like an insult to the majority of players.
As a result of Niantic’s quiet adjustment of the number of Mega Energy received on adventures with Buddies, a wave of enthusiastic fans has emerged, replacing the previous lack of excitement.
Lucario Buddy Mega Energy drops got fixed to 25! byu/lxpb inTheSilphRoad
“A user on the Silph Road Reddit shared their excitement, posting an image of 25 Lucario Mega Energy received from walking 5km with their previously Mega evolved Buddy. It appears that the drop rate for Lucario Buddy Mega Energy has been fixed at 25.”
Before, the reward for walking 5km was only 15. This meant that players had to walk 15km in order to obtain enough energy (40 Mega Energy) to evolve their Lucario for a second time. However, with the recent changes, players can now Mega Evolve their Lucario by only walking 10km and will still have 10 Mega Energy remaining.
Naturally, supporters were overjoyed, with one playfully stating: “There must be a logical reason for this. Perhaps an intern at Niantic has a fondness for Lucario.”
Another person also pointed out that the success of the recent Mega Lucario Raid Day could be attributed to the good decisions that were made for the event.
