Completing a medal task in Pokémon Go can be very rewarding – but it can also be frustrating because some of them take a lot of time and others require a fair amount of luck.

Luckily, Pokémon Go has a great community that can help with difficult tasks like medals. A Pokémon Go player recently took to r/TheSilphRoad to give other players a handy tip to help them complete one of the game’s most “tedious”medals.

Pokémon Go player posts pro tip to help with frustrating medal

Originally appearing in this Reddit post, Pokémon Go player EriksenTheKing shared that the ongoing Horizons event was a perfect way to work towards the Cameraman Platinum medal in the game, calling the usual process of obtaining it “really tedious” .

This event is a really good opportunity to work on the cameraman medal byu/EriksenTheKing inTheSilphRoad

If you’re unfamiliar with the Cameraman Platinum medal, it requires you to be photobombed 400 times when using the Snapshot feature to take a photo of a Pokémon.

This process can take a long, long time – but the Pokémon Horizons event means characters are appearing much more frequently. While this event is running (until March 11), Liko and Roy from Horizons will appear while you take a photo in Snapshot mode.

Other Pokémon Go players were happy with the advice, thanking the post’s author for reminding them to work on the medal. One player commented, “You are a genius” while another said, “Thank you. I would have forgotten if you hadn’t mentioned it.”

Players were clearly happy to not have to grind for the Cameraman Platinum medal for so long – and who could blame them? One person commented, “Almost 10% towards 400 is extremely generous of Niantic, quietly the most useful thing from this event.”
