Pokemon Go Player Warns Against Excessive Team Rocket Encounters Leading to Bans

A Team Go Rocket Takeover event is set to arrive in Pokemon Go soon, and trainers are eagerly anticipating the addition of new Shadow Pokemon, such as the formidable Shadow Cresselia.

During the Adventure Week: Taken Over event, Grunts and Leaders may make changes to their lineups in order to provide players with a challenge. It is important to exercise caution during this event.

‘Faladyne’, a Reddit user, purposely got “banned on purpose so you don’t have to”by interacting with 160 Team Go Rocket Grunts in one day. This served as a warning to other trainers about the risk of getting banned for excessive Grunt interactions.

Despite being considered a challenging number for casual players, the OP disclosed that repeatedly interacting with the same Grunt can also result in encountering 160 Grunts.

It appears that encountering the Grunt at the PokeStop is enough to reach the Grunt limit. In other words, even if you choose not to battle and defeat the Team Go Rocket Grunt, spinning 160 black PokeStops can result in a seven-day ban from Pokemon Go.

Team Go Rocket is taking over Adventure Week between August 8 and 12.

According to certain users, the Pokemon Go Plus and other auto-catchers automatically spin PokeStops, but these actions do not contribute to in-game progress. Therefore, you should not encounter any issues. Additionally, other users have verified that Team Go Rocket Balloons do not count towards progress either.

During the Adventure Week: Taken Over event, which runs from August 8 to 12, the map will be filled with Team Go Rocket Grunts. This allows players to engage in battles during their free time.

Another player shared that they were previously banned due to the game’s detection of a “repetitive playing pattern,”which mistakenly classified them as a bot.

Although it cannot be confirmed that these actions will always lead to a ban, it appears that there is a restriction on the number of Team Go Rocket Grunts one can engage with in a day. Niantic has not yet disclosed this information to the general public.
