Despite not being present in the game yet, Pokemon Go’s Dynamax mechanics have already sparked anger among fans who view them as a mere ploy for profit.
Although information about the Dynamax battle feature in Pokemon Go is scarce, Japanese gaming sites have revealed some details that have been translated by Serebii. However, it should be noted that Niantic or The Pokemon Company have not officially released these details in English.
As per the translation, Dynamax Pokemon are restricted to using their power only in Max battles. They cannot be used in any other battles, thus it is unlikely to encounter any Dynamax vs. Mega Evolution battles in Pokemon Go. Furthermore, spending PokeCoins can enhance the rewards obtained from Max Battles.
As expected, Redditors are expressing their discontent with this news and are already criticizing the game’s utilization of Dynamaxing.

One user expressed their biggest complaint, stating that there are no benefits to obtaining Dynamax Pokemon outside of raids in the closed system. They found it nonsensical. Another user commented that it seemed like the feature would be unsuccessful.
As one player noted, this is not the first time some fans have experienced this. “It seems like another round of Mega Evolutions. A new element that should bring excitement, but instead causes frustration and disinterest, leading Niantic to revamp it in order to regain players’ support.”
“One user expressed their dislike for Dynamax and Gen 8, stating, “I already hated the concept from the start and did not enjoy Gen 8 at all.”They also added that the fact that it does not function like Raids means they have no intention of participating in it.”
Pokemon Go fans have eagerly awaited the Dynamax mechanic for quite some time. Being able to release a massive Pokemon in battle and take on rare creatures was a highlight of Pokemon Sword & Shield.
The implementation of the Dynamax mechanic in such an unconventional and isolated manner is a perplexing choice by Niantic. It is hoped that an official announcement will be made soon to provide clarification on these mechanics for the worldwide player base.
