The Mega Rayquaza makeup event has been well-received by Pokemon Go players due to its various benefits, making it a refreshing change from Elite Raids.
Elite Raids have numerous restrictions, including being only available at select Gyms and not allowing players to participate remotely. As a result, organizing a group and defeating the designated Pokemon can prove to be a daunting task for players.
The combination of these factors resulted in June’s Elite Raids being chaotic, as the majority of the community was unable to participate in any battles. However, the makeup event disregards all limitations and allows all trainers to participate in a regular Raid event.
Therefore, when ‘g47onik’, a prominent player, posted the event’s details on Reddit, the community rejoiced at the chance to obtain the highly coveted OP Mega Rayquaza.
Many people praised Niantic for their “massive win,”expressing their excitement. One player even complimented the event department at Niantic, stating that they are doing an excellent job.
“One person suggested, “Instead of making it a standard raid day/hour, they could have simply made it an Elite raid.”However, the fact that they are treating it as a regular raid day/hour is considered a major victory.”
The Mega Rayquaza Raids have been scheduled for 11 AM, 1 PM, and 6 PM local time on Saturday, August 3, 2024, allowing participants to choose the most convenient time to battle the Dragon/Flying-type Boss.
It was quite surprising for many to discover that the Raids could now be battled remotely, a highly requested feature for Elite Raids. And that’s not all- the limit for Remote Raid Passes will be raised to 20 per day, as opposed to the usual five.
Previously, the developers received recognition for acknowledging their mistake of promising 13 extra Passes during Mega Lucario Raid Day on July 27. This left the community satisfied with Niantic’s choices throughout the Shared Skies Season.
For an easier victory against Mega Rayquaza, utilize powerful Ice and Fairy-type Pokemon in Pokemon Go, such as Mamoswine, Baxcalibur, and Mega Gardevoir.
