Pokémon Go players are disappointed with the new design of Dialga and Palkia

Pokémon Go players have expressed their dislike for the designs of the Original Forms of Sinnoh’s two Legendaries, Dialga and Palkia.

Pokémon Go’s Sinnoh Tower 2024 event has officially begun, with the Los Angeles event opening to ticket holders on February 17, 2024.

One of the main attractions of the Tour of Sinnoh 2024 event is the opportunity to encounter and capture Dialga and Palkia in their Original Forms. Fans who have played Pokémon Legends: Arceus will remember that these two alternate forms debuted in ancient Sinnoh.

However, Pokémon Go fans experiencing these designs for the first time aren’t too happy with the new looks, with some fans even going so far as to call the Legendaries “grotesque.”

Pokémon Go fans disgusted by Original Form designs

A post on the Pokémon Go subreddit from a user named ‘A_Kumqwat’ sparked a discussion among fans. The trainer created a thread titled, “Unpopular Opinion(?): Dialga and Palkia in Original Form are ugly and clumsy and their designs make no sense.”

The original poster then explained by saying, “What the fuck is this with their ‘true’ forms??? Why does Dialga have meat beaters for front legs but tiny sticks for back legs? Same for Palkia’s clogs and high heels.”

After their critiques, they asked for feedback from the community, which generated a wide variety of opinions.

Some players agreed with the original poster’s judgment and called the designs ugly. “They look grotesque, disturbing, and not like something that should exist on Earth, which makes them appropriate designs for celestial creatures.”

However, many have noted that thanks to the lore introduced in Legends: Arceus, these designs make much more sense from a visual standpoint.

“If you don’t understand the lore, then these designs don’t make sense,” one trainer said. “But they have a reason for looking the way they do.”

For those who haven’t played Legends: Arceus, the Original Forms of Dialga and Palkia express how the two Legendary Pokémon attempt to imitate their creator, Arceus.

Of course, much of this lore isn’t present in Pokémon Go, meaning many players who limit themselves to mobile gaming may see them only as lanky goofs.
