Pokemon Go players can finally complete impossible Mythical Research after six years

Trainers who have been struggling with the Let’s Go Meltan Special Research in Pokemon Go can now rest easy, as the most challenging task of the quest has finally been completed.

The 2018 release of the Mythical Research quest required players to catch two Lileep or Anorith. However, the rarity of these Pokemon made it difficult for most players to complete the quest. Fortunately, an upcoming Spotlight Hour event in August 2024 will feature Lileep, providing players with a new opportunity to catch this elusive Pokemon.

During this event, players are guaranteed to encounter numerous spawns for a full hour, making it a breeze to complete the 6-year-old quest of catching two Anorith or Lileep.

Reddit user ‘5c0uty’, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to catch Lileep, recently shared their excitement about completing the task.

The fans were filled with excitement as they eagerly awaited the opportunity to complete the task, as shown by their comments such as “I screamed when I saw this yesterday”and “The pain is real. I am eagerly anticipating the spotlight hour.”

Despite being a possible reward for completing the ‘Make 3 Great Throws in a row’ Field Research task, Lileep was not commonly encountered by many people, including the OP. Even those who were fortunate enough to encounter it were only able to catch one Lileep or Anorith, leaving them eager for a second chance.

The Lileep Spotlight Hour is scheduled for August 13 and will occur from 6 PM to 7 PM in each local time zone. As there is no need to actively search for these spawns, it offers a guaranteed way to complete the task.

It seems that in addition to aiding players in completing the Lileep quest at a specific stage of their Research, August also assists with another task – catching an Aerodactyl.

Fans have noted that Aerodactyl will be among the featured spawns during the Adventure Week 2024 event. However, it will be less common than other wild Pokemon, so patience will be necessary.

After obtaining Meltan by completing the Research, it can be evolved into Melmetal, a highly formidable species in the Master League of Pokemon Go.
