Pokemon Go Players Criticize the Underwhelming Expert Box as a Misuse of PokeCoins

Boxes in Pokemon Go can be purchased for a certain number of PokeCoins and contain useful in-game items. However, a recent Box has shocked players due to its high cost and underwhelming contents.

PokeCoins are essential for Pokemon Go players to acquire Remote Raid Passes, Egg Incubators, and other helpful items that aid in catching Pokemon, including Legendaries. Many users tend to opt for purchasing these items in Boxes, as they offer a collection of items at a reduced cost.

A recently released item, dubbed the ‘Expert Box’, has become available in the Pokemon Go Shop and has left players confused due to its lack of logic. The user ‘Elliot_ps’ shared the specifics of this new addition in a Reddit post titled: “Does anyone actually purchase these?”

The Expert Box, priced at a staggering 750 PokeCoins, includes 50 Razz, Pinap, and Nanab Berries each. However, as Berries are readily obtainable within the game, the community did not react positively to this offer.

Some users expressed that they had not encountered a feature like this before and voiced their dissatisfaction with the Niantic developers, claiming that they add new elements without careful consideration. Some also argued that the Berries take up unnecessary space in their inventory, as they can be acquired easily by spinning PokeStops and Gyms.

A speculation was made by an individual that the target audience for this could be rural players of Pokemon Go, but they found it strange because it is not feasible to have enough PokeCoins to purchase Boxes due to the limited number of PokeStops and Gyms in those areas.

Despite their underwhelming nature, some rural players also pointed out that they can still benefit from the ability to friend others and receive berries from gifts. Additionally, there were many who expressed interest in purchasing similar Boxes if they also included Poffins, which aid in quickly reaching Best Buddy status.

Additionally, fans pointed out that investing money would not be logical since they could easily accumulate the same amount of PokeCoins within a few weeks.

Despite the potential lack of value in the Expert Box, you can continue accumulating PokeCoins until Go Fest 2024. This will allow you to purchase Remote Raid Passes, which can be used to obtain the Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings forms of Necrozma.
