Pokémon Go players are unimpressed with the rewards offered for completing the Time Travels event season, especially considering the work involved.
Those currently playing Pokémon Go can take part in the Time Travels event, where creatures introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, such as Amovenus, will be brought into the mobile game.
Voyages hors du temps also offers its own Special Studies. These are spread across fourteen different stages and involve completing various activities, including capturing Pokémon, defeating Rocket Minions, hatching Eggs, sending Gifts, and performing Effect Throws.
If you complete the first thirteen stages, you will be rewarded with the fourteenth stage, which includes 5000 XP, 5 Golden Framby Berries, a Lucky Egg, and a guaranteed encounter with a wild Pokémon. Unfortunately, many fans are unhappy with the Pokémon you encounter when you complete all the stages.
New event rewards disappoint Pokémon Go players
A user on the Pokémon Go Reddit created a thread complaining about the Griknot you encounter while completing the Time Travel Special Research. The reward is particularly disappointing, as you must defeat Giovanni and his monstrous Dark Kyogre to complete all the tasks.
“I already have a raid-perfect shiny Garchomp… I was really hoping this 14-page quest would be something good. This is really disappointing,” one user wrote, while another said: “Okay, a very disappointing price for a seasonal search.”
“Having been playing for years, I’m not surprised by the rewards now,” another user wrote. “The only reason I complete tasks is to clean the list. I’m over 500 perfect so I don’t even care.”
The Griknot reward is particularly frustrating for those residing in the Southern Hemisphere, as it is a regular encounter in that region, or at least during the Journeys Out of Time event.
Some fans consider the Dark Kyogre to be the true reward of the event, but it involves an incredibly difficult fight against Giovanni, which requires much more preparation than a standard Rocket Minion or Leader. In comparison, the Griknot seems like a late thought.
A Griknot is a useful Pokémon to have early in the main games, especially because it evolves into the massive Garchomp, but it’s not as impressive as the final reward for a major seasonal event in Pokémon Go.
