Pokémon Go Players Disappointed by Declining Quality of Study Phase Rewards

Pokémon Go fans are unhappy with the Research Phase rewards earned after completing seven Field Research missions.

A user on the Pokémon Go Reddit exposed the reasons, as they gradually got worse over time.

“I remember when this launched, I got a Regirock and a Moltres as rewards for filling the stamp book,” the author wrote, “Now, after coming back for a month since early 2019, it’s just… Literally just Minidraco, until today when I got COUAFAREL. Really? It’s useless! And also a reward in regular searches I think, so it’s doubly disgusting and lame.»

Why are breakthrough rewards so much worse than I remember byu/The_Scrungler inpokemongo

“I got most of the legendary birds… including my shiny Ho-Oh from a weekly. I miss those times. “one user lamented, while another wrote, “During the PAST SIX WEEKS I got the reward of 20 Poké Balls, my boyfriend got 2 Remote Raid Passes in the last few months. Saying I’m salty doesn’t begin to describe how I feel.»

“Not enough research challenges, too many paid tickets and we should have the legendary study phase rewards again, why are Raids the only way to do that,” one user said, “At least make it so if you complete a month of study phase rewards, so 4 weeks in a row, reward us with a random legendary.»

One user summed it up perfectly, “My last reward was a Moumouflon, which is a far cry from the 96% shiny Groudon I got years ago as a study phase reward, or all the other legendaries that were rewards.»

These complaints aren’t exaggerated, as Pokémon like Legendary Birds, Legendary Beasts, Ho-Oh, and Lugia were Study Phase rewards in 2019.

These days, fans are lucky if they receive a Remote Raid Pass for their trouble, but they’ll mostly receive Poké Balls and common Pokémon, which is hardly an adequate reward for logging into the game regularly and complete tasks.
