Pokemon Go players are thrilled with the announcement that Beldum will be the featured Pokémon for the upcoming Community Day Classic.
A brief teaser released by Niantic on X/Twitter unveiled that the original Community Day for Gen 3 Pokémon took place in October 2018. Since then, it has been highly requested for a comeback in future Classic events.
The news of the mobile game’s release has been met with widespread praise from the community, with many even calling it a “dream come true.”
One response on Reddit expressed the highest level of excitement for a Community Day in a long time, while another user admitted they may even reinstall the game just for the opportunity to catch a Shundo Metagross during the event.
Some were open about their determination to put in a lot of effort to obtain the perfect Beldum. “Wow, the grind is going to be epic.”
Shiny rates will be boosted for the duration of the event.
One important detail to mention is that Metagross is among the few Pokemon that has yet to receive its Mega evolution. Considering that Lucario was introduced in July, it is possible that Niantic intends for the Ruby & Sapphire pseudo-Legendary to be the next one released.
Despite the possibility that this may not be the case, Metagross in its base form is already considered a top-tier Raid staple due to the inclusion of Meteor Mash. This move, which can only be acquired by evolving Beldum into Metagross during its designated Community Day, is widely regarded as one of the most powerful Steel-type moves available.
The Beldum’s Community Day Classic is scheduled for August 18 from 2 PM to 5 PM based on local time. Prior to this event, there are various other activities happening in Pokemon Go. Starting on August 8, Adventure Week: Taken Over will begin, featuring increased appearance rates of Rocket Grunts and the introduction of Shadow Cresselia in Raids.
Popplio’s first appearance on Community Day will mark the end of summer, featuring the typical anticipated bonuses and updated rewards for the Research Breakthrough.
