Pokémon Go players excited about the big avatar overhaul

It looks like Pokémon Go is finally rolling out its long-awaited Avatar overhaul, but not everyone was able to access it immediately.

Pokémon Go’s Avatar customization feature has been pretty basic for a while now.

Although trainers can purchase new cosmetics like hats, clothing, and Avatar poses, there have been no major changes to the appearance of Avatars since the start of the game.

Now, it seems that developer Niantic has started rolling out a major overhaul to the Avatar system that players have wanted for years and the community is excited.

According to social media posts, some players have already been able to access this feature for almost an entire day.

A Reddit user named bormadoline_ made a post on the TheSilphRoad subreddit proving that he had access to the feature after going to the Advanced Settings menu, refreshing the Game Data, and re-downloading all assets.

For those with access to the new customization features, trainers have access to all-new hairstyles, colors, face shapes, eyes, and body types.

Additionally, the faces of the Avatars in general have changed, making them look slightly more realistic.

Many fans were excited to see the new system and praised Niantic for introducing such a significant overhaul to Avatars.

“Wow, this is more of a complete overhaul than anyone asked for. I just wanted more hairstyle and body shape options,” one fan said, while another said, “Oh nice! Niantic has been rolling out long-needed quality of life updates. I love that.”

Unfortunately, it seems that not everyone has access to this new feature, as many US players have claimed that they cannot change their appearance even after updating the game.

This has led some to speculate that this feature is rolling out to players in certain ‘groups’. Those who are not in a specific ‘group’ might get this update much later than those in another ‘group’.

While it may be a while before every player has access to the revamped Avatar system for now, it seems like many fans are excited to redesign their trainers in the game.
