Some Pokémon Go players are cursed to keep catching shiny versions of the same Pokémon, giving them an excessive number of these extremely rare Pokémon.
In the Pokémon series, shiny Pokémon are valuable due to their rarity, even using shiny hunting methods. Despite the fact that players do not want a specific shiny Pokémon, they are highly sought after for bartering.
Pokémon Go players have it a little easier, as the shiny rates are higher than in the main games, and there are also regular events that increase the shiny rate even further. Constantly encountering Pokémon for capture purposes also means that it’s likely that you’ll come across a shiny.
The high rate of shiny means that dedicated Pokémon Go players are often spoiled for choice when it comes to shiny Pokémon, to the point where they have so many that the appeal begins to fade.
Pokémon Go players always capture the same shinys
A user on the PokemonGOValor forum created a thread asking fans which shiny Pokémon they repeatedly catch, showing off many of the shiny Scyther and shiny Scissor he’s caught so far.
What’s everyone’s shiny they are cursed with? byu/JixXBL inPokemonGOValor
“Mine is also Scyther. My 11 year old son caught about 20 shiny Granivol. My wife has the same luck with Skarmory and Twitch,” one user wrote, while another said, “Mine is Tylton. I had about 11. And not even during community day.”
A player is stuck capturing a valuable Pokémon. “Mine is Keunotor. Everyone wants one so bad for the lore, and I can’t stop getting them.” This refers to the meme of capturing a shiny Keunotor and bragging about it or using a Master Ball on one.
“I wish I was cursed with shiny Scythers,” one user lamented. “I’ve never had one. For me, it’s Archaeomire and curiously Fulguris. I only did 3 Fulguris raids earlier this month and got 3 shinys. I wish I hadn’t wasted my chance on them: (“
Ultimately, shiny hunting is all about luck, and with so many people playing Pokémon Go, there are people who keep encountering the same shiny Pokémon over and over. At least they can trade them, or if Pokémon Go adds Lucky Trades, they can be given to strangers.
