Pokémon Go players found the store’s “worst scam”

Pokémon Go players are fed up with the “biggest scams” in the Store and are calling for changes from Niantic.

Being a free-to-play game, it’s natural for Pokémon Go to have certain microtransactions. In this case, these are present in the in-game Store, which provides players with Pokéballs, Packs, Research Tickets and much more.

However, with Pokémon Go’s Shop being such an important part of the experience, many fans are looking back at some of the “biggest scams” they’ve seen – and several players are calling for major changes to be made by Niantic to the future.

Pokémon Go fans think it’s the ‘biggest scam’ in the Store

On Reddit, a Pokémon Go user asked: “What’s the biggest scam the store has ever seen?”

Along with the question, they attached a screenshot showing both the price of 100 Pokéballs and 20 Pokéballs, which comes to around $6.99 and $0.99. Clearly, the price of Pokéballs is the main concern of the display.

Other fans were quick to reveal their similar frustrations, explaining how “There should be 100 balls for 100 coins at minimum. You can spin a few stops or open like 5 presents to get 20.”

One user echoed the Pokéballs “scam” by commenting: “The biggest scam is 100 PokéCoins for 99 cents and 550 for 5.99.”

While many thought PokéBalls were the worst feature, one player pointed out that he thinks “the whole store is a scam, every item there has a floating price that changes with the wind or for no reason at all. I never bought anything unless I had enough coins for it from arenas, and usually that was for storage upgrades.”

“Everything about the store is a scam and the box packs are ridiculously overpriced,” one user added, revealing how frustrated the community is with the Store’s prices.

Fortunately, you can get PokéCoins without needing to spend money, and it’s not too difficult to get PokéBalls, but it’s still extremely frustrating to see the prices being much higher than what the fans would like.
