Pokemon Go players have mixed opinions on Mega Rayquaza catch rate

On August 3, Mega Rayquaza returned to Pokemon Go in a special Raid event. However, not everyone has been happy with the Legendary from Gen 3 making a comeback.

The Rayquaza, a Dragon/Flying-type Pokemon, returned following its appearance in Elite Raids on June 29. In response to critiques about the difficulty of participating in these raids, Niantic reintroduced Rayquaza and even included free Timed research to make the deal more enticing.

Some trainers who have attempted to catch the caretaker of Groudon and Kyogre have shared their experiences on Reddit. One user in particular has criticized the “horrible”catch rates for PoGo’s latest limited-time event.

The accompanying image depicting multiple Raids in which they failed to capture Rayquaza further emphasized their statement that the catch rate was horrible.

Despite the possibility of this being attributed to sheer misfortune, other users in the thread shared similar stories of leaving Raids without any successful catches. One user even commented, “I had the same experience. Out of nine Raids, I only caught four.”

Players have reported having difficulty in catching Rayquaza after a successful Raid

Some even argued that their attempts were fruitless, despite exerting maximum effort to increase their chances of capturing the target. “It’s a deception. I participated in three Raids and only succeeded in capturing it once. I exhausted 20 Golden Razz Berries and threw Excellent throws every other time.”

Several posts on the Pokemon Go subreddit have been tagged with the complaint flair, but individuals have had vastly different experiences.

“Did you catch all 30 Raids today?”came one example of success. “No, I’ve only done one hour and caught all 13 so far,”shared another player.

Furthermore, the commencement of Adventure Week in Pokemon Go coincided with the release of Mega Rayquaza on August 3.
