Pokémon Go players love this Rayquaza from “Wish”

A Pokémon Go player shared his Rayquaza from Wish and fans loved it, but were left disappointed after discovering the shared Pokémon is no longer available.

Pokémon Go is no stranger to extremely rare Pokémon. From uncommon species to incredibly rare and unique Shundos, players are always eager to share their most valuable catches.

However, the truly rarest Pokémon are old event encounters that haven’t been available for years. These Pokémon are no longer obtainable, meaning if you didn’t capture one from the start, you’re out of luck. Unless you can convince another trainer to trade it.

It’s one of those event Pokémon that has impressed fans recently, being even rarer than the Legendary Pokémon it mimics.

The featured Pikachu is wearing a Rayquaza Hat, a special costume variant available during the Hoenn Throwback Challenge event in May 2020. The rare variant has not been re-released since, making it unobtainable outside of a trade.

One user expressed his admiration for the author’s Pikachu by responding, “Super jealous of that lol, my favorite Pikachu costume,”with Pikachu (Rayquaza Hat) being one of 55 event costumes that the mascot of the franchise currently owns.

One of the top-voted answers asked, “You bought this on Wish, right?” joking that the trainer had ended up with a cheap Rayquaza as a joke.

Others joked, “You need the meteorite to teach him dragon ascension,” as well as, “You need to have at least 826 candies,” and, “You need 1.3 million dust for the first time. The following are free,” referring to the user’s vast collection of Stardust and Pikachu candies.

Although Pikachu (Rayquaza Hat) isn’t likely to reappear anytime soon, Pokémon Go players will likely have the opportunity to capture the real deal at some point in 2024. Rayquaza last appeared in August 2023 and has been available at least once every year since its debut in 2018.
