The nefarious Team Rocket Leaders have returned to Pokemon Go, introducing new Shadow lineups that have left trainers disappointed with the underwhelming catchable species.
Each Taken Over event brings in new Pokemon to their teams, with at least one always being relevant for Raids or the Go Battle League.
Despite the community’s outrage, the latest Team Rocket Leader teams have reached a new level of difficulty, featuring Sierra’s Carvanha, Cliff’s Lileep, and Arlo’s Anorith. Popular Pokemon Go player ‘PoGOCentral’ shared these updates in a recent post, sparking even more frustration among players.

Previously, Team Rocket Leaders possessed formidable Pseudo Legendary Pokémon, offering trainers the Shadow versions of Salamence, Dragonite, Metagross, and Machamp. These captures rank among the top attackers in the game.
To everyone’s surprise, the Grunts managed to obtain valuable catches, including a Shadow Timburr owned by the Fighting-type NPC. This Pokémon evolves into Conkeldurr, which is considered one of the most powerful in the current meta.
Despite the disappointment of players, Niantic’s decision to include Cresselia instead of Shadow Rayquaza in Giovanni’s team was met with disappointment. Given that the last two rotations of the Team Rocket Boss featured Kyogre and Groudon, many were anticipating that the Leader teams would make up for it.
Shadow Sharpedo, the evolved form of Carvanha, can be used as a Raid counter against Fire, Ground, and Rock-type Bosses to a certain extent. However, its value is limited due to its exceedingly low stamina.
After the OP labeled it as one of the worst rotations, the consensus among fans was unanimous as they declared that they would not be interested in battling the Leaders until their team makes changes in the next Season.
In the end, the lack of any useful Pokemon to catch from these NPCs left everyone surprised, leading to them being labeled as “trash”and one comment even stating, “This must be fake.”
If taking on Team Rocket in Pokemon Go does not interest you, consider participating in Shadow Lugia Raids to obtain a formidable addition for your Master League team.
