Pokemon Go players thrilled with Ultra Beast event but slam region-locking

Niantic’s latest announcement of a new event has been well-received by the Pokemon Go community, earning them a big win. The globally anticipated Inbound from Ultra Space event is confirmed to launch on July 8 and will be available to all players.

To kick off the highly anticipated Pokemon Go Fest Global on July 13, Inbound from Ultra Space focuses on the Ultra Beasts, as implied by its name. Fans have responded positively to the announcement of various exciting buffs and rewards that will be available.

One response on Reddit stated, “That’s great news! It will relieve the stress of trying to catch the UBs I want before Go Fest, allowing me to concentrate on Necrozma. Well done, Niantic.”

“Another participant added that there are some exciting bonuses to look forward to during GO Fest Global, specifically the availability of Beast Balls for the entire weekend, which will be a major advantage.”

“One more content Trainer remarked, “This is perfect timing and relieves some of the pressure of hunting for all the UBs at NY Go Fest.”

Despite this, there has been criticism regarding the fact that Ultra Beasts are region-locked, as expressed by some in the same thread.

“One player expressed their thoughts on the upcoming event, stating that it was a fairly good event in preparation for Go Fest. However, they found it bothersome that the Regional-ness of the Buzz-Phero-Xurki trio and the Stakataka-Blacephalon duo wasn’t halted. Despite this, they believed that with the event only lasting one day, it would have been simple to mix things up.”

“Another person chimed in, expressing their disappointment that the event was still limited to regionals. They shared that they had already caught their Pheromosa in Madrid and were finished with that task.”

During Go Fest Global, players will have the opportunity to catch and obtain every Ultra Beast, regardless of their real-world location, as regional limitations will be lifted. However, it is not surprising that Niantic has not offered a similar benefit outside of this event.

Despite attracting criticism for its handling of Mega Rayquaza, the game’s developer has received a much-needed win from the overall positivity of the Pokemon Go community. The highly anticipated return of the Gen 3 Legendary will take place on Saturday, June 29, but will only be available in Elite Raids.
