The Pokemon Go community has observed a rise in spoofer incidents, which appear to specifically target activities such as PokeStop Showcases and Gyms. These individuals use unbeatable Pokemon to occupy these locations, making it difficult for trainers to claim their rewards.
Spoofers are individuals who utilize third-party programs to alter their location and participate in remote gameplay. These actions are in direct violation of Niantic’s Terms of Service and are the primary reason for permanent bans in Pokemon Go.
ThickPasta, a user on Reddit, expressed their concern about a spoofer who is spamming the local PokeStop Showcase ranking. They mentioned that they were ranked number 1 until this individual and their four accounts joined.
In response to the OP’s post, another player remarked, “It’s quite surprising how many people prefer to play this game from the comfort of their homes.”They then went on to say, “I personally don’t understand the appeal of spoofing, but I suppose some people do and it’s unfortunate for the rest of us.”

A different player also shared a similar experience, stating, “There is an individual in my neighborhood who possesses 13 accounts and has managed to obtain the 13 most powerful Pokémon in every showcase.”
This is only one of the numerous problems that users face while taking part in PokeStop Showcases, as well as other activities.
Several players have reported that spoofers are taking over Gyms in their area by using “auto-healing”Pokemon. This constant occupation by the same players prevents others from earning their daily PokeCoin yield and hinders their progress.
According to a player, it was unbelievable that we had to gather a group of 10 people to take down a single user who had 6 spoofing accounts in a Gym, and even then, his Pokemon never fell below 50% health.

The community of Pokemon Go is worried that Niantic has not adequately addressed this issue and is afraid that if it continues to occur, it will result in players giving up on the game.
