Niantic has confirmed that the event “Rediscover Kanto”will take place from April 22, 2024, to May 9, 2024. This will also mark the exciting debut of the Garden Eel Pokemon Wiglett in the beach biome during the event. “Rediscover Kanto”will offer players the opportunity to explore and encounter various biomes such as beach, city, mountain, and forest.

Rediscover Kanto offers the following bonuses:
- Increased XP for a seven-day Pokestop spin streak
- Increased XP for a seven-day Pokemon catch streak
- Opening Gifts, trading Pokémon, and participating in raids, Gyms, or Trainer Battles are all ways to increase friendship levels between individuals.
- Increased chance of encountering the Shiny versions of Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur.
