While Dynamax Battles are the exciting new feature in Pokémon Go, traditional Raids continue to be a hot topic, with recent changes to their mechanics frustrating many players.
It appears that Niantic has modified how Raid Pokémon transition between their Fast and Charged Moves. This alteration has led to players in Kyogre Raids being overwhelmed by the Charged Moves of powerful Pokémon, decimating their teams.
Niantic has addressed these changes and the accompanying player frustration in an X post. They explained that “in response to the increased difficulty of Raid Battles we have reduced the rate at which Raid Bosses release charged attacks.”
Niantic also indicated the possibility of further adjustments, stating, “Note that there may be more changes later in order to balance the difficulty of Raid Battles.”
For many fans, the concern arises from the changes themselves, with numerous players calling for a return to the previous mechanics. One comment expressed, “Just revert the changes. The raids didn’t need reworking.”
On the other hand, some players are simply requesting that Raids be made easier overall. One commenter remarked, “Make raids easier, not harder, would be better,” and another added, “Can you make them easier to catch?” They pointed out the frustration of spending on Remote Raid Passes only to struggle to capture Pokémon despite using a Golden Razz Berry.
Not all players opposed the changes; some enjoyed the heightened difficulty, with one fan stating, “I enjoyed the increased difficulty. It made the raids more engaging rather than a tap fest. I actually had to pay more attention to fighting and dodging. It was a welcome change.”
It remains to be seen if Niantic will implement more changes to Raid mechanics, but we will keep you updated on any developments.
