Many trainers find themselves frustrated by the lengthy completion time of certain Pokemon Go Research tasks. However, some players have shared useful tips that can help expedite the most bothersome tasks to date.
Pokemon Go offers a variety of quests through Field and Special Research tasks, providing trainers with appealing rewards upon completion. However, the difficulty level varies among these tasks, with some being more challenging than others, resulting in some players being unable to advance.
Despite their best efforts, players have struggled with tasks such as catching specific Pokemon, unlocking evolutions, and maintaining a streak. Unfortunately, these challenges continue to evade them and remain unfinished.
A Reddit user known as ‘-TheMidpoint-‘ is among these trainers, as they recently posted a question asking, “What’s that ONE research task you’ve been on forever?” while sharing a quest they have been struggling with.
The post attracted numerous fans of Pokemon Go to engage in the comments section, sharing their struggles with troublesome Research tasks that they couldn’t complete. Fortunately, other trainers came to their aid and offered assistance.

Immediately, one player expressed that the eighth or ninth step of the ‘Let’s Go, Meltan!’ Special Research, which involves catching two Lileep or Anorith, has been their downfall. Another player shared that they have been “struggling with the same task for months.”
In response, someone else suggested, “Try using incense daily and check the research rewards. There’s a task that rewards you with an encounter.”It’s important to note that the ‘Make 3 Great Throws in a row’ Field Research task awards these specific Pokemon.
Some people also pointed out the importance of completing the ‘Catch a Ditto’ task, with one fan suggesting looking for Koffing as it often appears in the form of this disguised Pokemon. When it comes to the ‘Evolve a Magikarp’ quest, a trainer advised seeking out the rare male Team Rocket grunt who says something along the lines of “the waters are treacherous,”as this grunt only has Magikarp encounters.
Moreover, individuals struggling with catching 40 Ghost-type Pokemon during the Halloween event were advised to search for Gastly at twilight or to target “ghost grunts,”known for their distinctive “ke ke ke ke”laughter.
As you finish these Research tasks in Pokemon Go, be sure to refer to the Team Go Rocket Grunt lineups, Raids, and Spotlight Hour schedules to quickly catch the necessary species.
