Pokemon Go: Scorching Steps Event Dates
The Scorching Steps event in Pokemon Go will occur from Friday, June 21 at 10 AM until Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 8 PM (local time).
This event marks the second installment of the Shared Skies season and will follow the Slumbering Sands event, which will showcase the debut of shiny Komala.
Larvesta is extremely rare in Pokemon Go as it’s only obtainable from Eggs.

The upcoming Pokemon Go Scorching Steps event will mark the introduction of the highly anticipated shiny Larvesta. During the event, players can expect to see the following species hatching from Eggs:
2 km Eggs
- Growlithe*
- Slum*
- Houndour*
- Magby*
- Larvesta *
5 Kilometer Eggs
- Hisuian Growlithe*
- Darumaka*
- Litwick*
- Larvesta *
- Litleo*
10 Kilometer Eggs
- Larvesta *
- Turtonator*
- Charcadet
Pokemon that are marked with (*) have the possibility of being shiny in Pokemon Go. During the event, there is a chance for Larvesta to hatch from 2km, 5km, and 10km Eggs. However, Larvesta remains one of the most challenging species to obtain from Eggs, making it a rare and lucky hatch if you are able to get a shiny Larvesta.
Pokemon Go Scorching Steps Research
The upcoming Scorching Steps event in Pokemon Go will provide players with specially-themed Field and Timed Research tasks, allowing them to earn additional rewards.
During the event, trainers who spin PokeStops will receive event-themed tasks. Upon completion, players will be rewarded with encounters featuring Slugma, Litleo, or Turtonator.
Conversely, completing the free Timed Research accessible to all players will reward Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
Turtonator is the only Dragon-type that can beat both Fairy and Steel Pokemon.
Pokemon Go: Scorching Steps Event Bonuses
During the Scorching Steps event, players of Pokemon Go can look forward to the following bonuses:
- Hatching Eggs will now yield 2 times the amount of Candy.
- During the event, placing Eggs into Incubators will result in a 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance.
- During the event, the first three Eggs hatched using the Pokemon Go Egg hatching widget will have a 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance.
- There is a higher likelihood of encountering and hatching shiny Slugma and shiny Litleo.
