Pokemon Go Team Rocket battle limit leads to player bans

Taking on Team Rocket and their leader Giovanni is a positive aspect in the mainline Pokemon games, but engaging in too many battles with them in Pokemon Go may result in account bans, according to online reports.

To obtain Shadow Pokemon, it is essential to locate and encounter both Team Rocket Go Grunts and their leaders. Fortunately, they can be easily found in the overworld, appearing at PokeStops or within their iconic black balloons. The current event, Adventure Week Taken Over, also increases their frequency of appearance.

Over time, fans have noticed that the rotation of Shadow Pokemon and their Shiny counterparts changes. To increase their chances of obtaining a Shundo, fans often engage in numerous battles with Team Rocket Go Grunts, who are known for frequently appearing in the game. This also means facing off against Giovanni’s crew many times.

According to ZoeTwoDots on Twitter/X, too many encounters with Team Rocket may lead to a ban. They shared that their account was banned after interacting with numerous Team Rocket Go Grunts and spinning their PokeStops, with Niantic flagging it as suspicious activity.

This occurrence is not unique, as numerous other users have responded to the post, stating that they too have been banned after participating in a Team Rocket Go Grunt hunt. It remains uncertain if these bans occur when the number of encounters reaches 100 or below.

There is a possibility that the problem has been resolved, as ZoeTwoDots mentioned in an update on Twitter/X that some users are no longer facing the ban. This indicates that the developers may have raised the limit that triggers the flag.

Despite it being Pokemon Go Adventure Week: Taken Over, players should continue to exercise caution while hunting for Shiny Shadow Pokemon by Team Rocket Go Grunts. The cause of issues with the game can be unpredictable and inconsistent, making it important to remain vigilant.

Until August 12, the Pokemon Go Adventure Week: Taken Over event is ongoing, therefore it is advisable to not have too many Team Rocket Go encounters at once. This will allow players to complete all necessary tasks without the possibility of being banned.
