Pokemon Go Update Renders Game Unplayable Due to Unforeseen Cause

Version 0.325.1 of Pokemon Go is being released, but unfortunately, this update is causing a significant glitch where players are unable to find any Pokemon or PokeStops. Interestingly, this issue seems to only affect players wearing specific avatar outfits.

Trainers who have equipped their avatars with clothing inspired by Professor Willow, Team Magma, or Team Rocket are currently unable to encounter any Pokemon, as well as access PokeStops and Gyms for items, rendering the game unplayable for them.

One of the many people affected by this strange glitch was Reddit user ‘Breezer_Pindakaas’, who cautioned others not to update until Niantic, the developers, had fixed the issue.

Do not update your game. Just updated on my S23 and now i have the empty map glitch. byu/Breezer_Pindakaas inTheSilphRoad

The original poster mentioned that they had worn the Team Magma outfit and remarked, “Looks like purchasing premium items now comes with the risk of being softlocked.”

Despite facing the same issue, multiple fans reported that uninstalling and reinstalling the game did not resolve the problem. Regrettably, seeking assistance through the Niantic Support chat proved to be unsuccessful as well.

Some players recommended reinstalling the previous version, 0.323.1, in response to this issue. One player advised resetting the avatar completely after entering the game on the previous version to prevent it from malfunctioning again after an update.

Although Android users have the option to revert to a previous version, iOS users will need to patiently wait until the problematic outfits are resolved. Nevertheless, a resourceful player discovered a clever solution to bypass this issue.

The individuals stated, “We encountered the same problem, but fortunately my son did not update Pokemon Go on his phone. I was able to log in on his device, change my outfit, and now the game is functioning properly again!”

Therefore, if you happen to know someone who has not yet updated their game, you can utilize their device to fix the problematic outfit and prevent any complications caused by the patch.

In case you are experiencing this issue after updating Pokemon Go, there are other options you can try, such as participating in the Go Battle League or battling against Team Rocket Grunts for the time being.
