Pokemon Go’s 8th Anniversary Party Disappoints Fans with Missing Bonus

The recent announcement of the 8th Anniversary Party event in Pokemon Go has caught many players off guard due to the absence of a crucial Pokemon bonus that was present during the last two occasions.

The 8th Anniversary Party event for Pokemon Go is quickly approaching, however, fans are disappointed that one feature will be unavailable this time around – the ability to evolve Party Hat Bulbasaur.

During previous anniversary events, Charmander and Squirtle, the other two Gen 1 starter Pokemon, had their Party Hat versions evolve into Charizard and Blastoise respectively.

Many players, including Reddit user ‘HiOnFructose’, were confused by the absence of the bonus and expressed their disappointment by stating, “Guess we’ll have to wait for next year’s anniversary event” while sharing the ‘For the better, right?’ meme in a post.

The legendary Bulbasaur, known for its Grass/Poison typing, transforms into Venusaur, a dominant contender in both the Great and Ultra Leagues, as well as a top choice for Raid battles when it reaches its Mega Evolved state. As they already have Party Hat variants of the other starter Pokemon, numerous trainers were excited to incorporate this powerhouse into their lineups.

A trainer suggested, “Since it’s only starter Pokemon spawning, they should enable the evolution moves for all of them. However, if hat Bulbasaur still can’t evolve, it would just make matters worse.”

Despite this, a fan had a hypothesis regarding the restriction on the popular starter in Pokemon Go. They stated, “I always believed that a party hat Venusaur would not be possible due to the hat’s position, which would cause it to overlap with Venusaur’s front-facing leaf.”

They also suggested that placing the hat on the side would be the most sensible solution, but acknowledged that it may not be feasible. This idea was swiftly countered by another player who responded:

“I hope they can come up with something just as imaginative as the Fashion Week Croagunk, perhaps by placing the party hat on top of its flower petal or something similar.”

Although Party Hat Bulbasaur may be absent from the Pokemon Go 8th Anniversary event, there are still other exciting features to anticipate, such as the shiny versions of Mythicals like Meltan and Celebi.
