Pokemon Go’s Latest Mythical Takes Over Master League & Raids

Marshadow has finally arrived in Pokemon Go Fest 2024 and has quickly become a top choice for the Master League and Raid battles due to its powerful abilities. This long-awaited Mythical Pokemon has proven to be a formidable opponent in the current meta.

The Go Fest 2024 celebrations have made the Gen 7 Mythical Pokemon Marshadow available. Many Pokemon Go players were expecting it to simply be another Pokedex entry with little impact on the meta, but they will be pleasantly surprised!

Despite there being a limited number of viable Mythicals in Raids and the Go Battle League (GBL), Marshadow has proven to be dominant in the Master League, as noted by renowned PvP strategist ‘JRE47’ in a post on The Silph Road subreddit.

The article “A PvP Analysis on Marshadow”shed light on the performance of this popular Pokemon in all three GBL Leagues.

The similarities between it and Annihilape in Pokemon Go, both sharing the Fighting/Ghost-type combination, were readily apparent. This was especially true as Annihilape was known to be a formidable opponent in Great, Ultra, and Master League battles.

The OP noted that while Annihilape tends to dominate in the lower Leagues, the situation shifts in the Master League. In this league, Marshadow’s impressive maximum CP of 4217 and formidable Attack stat of 265 give it the advantage.

Marshadow not only secures multiple impressive victories, but also surpasses even Annihilape’s capabilities by defeating opponents such as Yveltal and various Dragon-types like Dragonite, Garchomp, Palkia, Rayquaza, and Zygarde Complete. This puts into perspective the Mythical’s impressive record, outscoring all of Annihilape’s noted wins.

Despite having a significantly lower Attack stat of 220, Annihilape remains a viable option in battle due to its access to powerful moves such as Shadow Ball and other coverage moves. However, in the Master League, where a strong moveset and higher stats are crucial, Marshadow’s sheer power allows it to excel and surpass Annihilape.

Additionally, Marshadow’s strong offensive capabilities, coupled with its effective use of Counter and Close Combat, make it an excellent choice for countering Raid Bosses that are vulnerable to Fighting-type attacks.

Marshadow is essential in Pokemon Go, but you can further enhance your teams by including other species such as the Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings fusions of Necrozma.
