Pokemon Go’s Max Raids: Not Worth It Without Gigantamax

Pokemon Go enthusiasts are eagerly immersing themselves in the Max Out season with anticipation for Galar, although a few are experiencing frustration over the restricted introduction of the new Dyanamax mechanics.

The Max Out season for Pokemon Go has officially begun, prompting players to get ready for the upcoming Dynamax Raids that are set to launch on September 10, 2024. Despite the initial excitement surrounding the new mechanics, some players have expressed disappointment at the absence of Gigantamax forms.

Fans were given a glimpse of how Dynamax Raids will work in a social media post shared by PokemonGoApp on X. However, concerns regarding the new game currency, accessibility, and missing features have been raised by trainers in the comments.

Many trainers express concern over the limited number of Gigantamax forms, which serve as the main highlight of the Galar gimmick. One trainer stated, “It seems like a promising feature that may require some adjustments. And when will we finally see Charizard in its Gigantamax form?”Another trainer chimed in, “Just a heads up, Gigantamax won’t be of much use until we have more forms available.”

Some individuals are dissatisfied with the fact that not all Pokemon are able to Dynamax. A Trainer highlighted, “The music is fantastic, but the feature as a whole requires some improvements. The first step should be to allow ALL Pokemon to participate in Max Battles. This simple change would greatly enhance the overall experience.”

A Niantic player criticized the company for restricting desired features behind paywalls. They expressed, “You are constantly on the brink of introducing great features, but somehow manage to make them not worth it. The exorbitant amount of XL candy required for upgrades, limited availability, and inability to use old Pokemon in raids or pvp – is this all just for appearance’s sake at the moment??”

Despite the initial excitement among fans for the Dynamax debut, as more information is revealed, it appears that the new content will face similar challenges as Mega Evolutions and other currency-heavy features in the mobile app.

We hope that the announcement of Gigantamax forms will come soon for those who were disappointed by their absence. We also hope that the cost of Candy and Max Particles will not deter those who are excited to play from participating.
