Pokemon Horizons Fans Speculate on Ash’s Possible Cameo Appearance

As avid watchers of the Pokemon anime are aware, the latest installment, Pokemon Horizons, centers around the two fresh-faced main characters Liko and Roy. However, a few sharp-eyed viewers questioned whether Ash Ketchum made a surprise appearance in a recent episode.

In episode 19 of Part 2 on Netflix, a short flashback is shown featuring Murdock and his rival Mitchell running a pastry shop as the Rising Volt Tackler.

During a fleeting moment, spectators catch a glimpse of a young boy with dark hair and his mother placing an order with Murdock at the counter. The woman, with auburn hair, is also carrying a Mime Jr. in her bag.

Despite not being able to see the family’s faces, excited fans on social media were quick to speculate that a young Ash Ketchum and his mother Deliah made a cameo in the flashback scene.

Sadly, for those hopeful to witness Ash’s comeback in Pokemon Horizons, numerous Pokemon enthusiasts flocked to the comments to discredit the theory and claimed that Mime Jr. could possibly be the key evidence.

One viewer argued that Mr. Mime joined Ash’s family as a Mr. Mime, rather than a Mime Jr., which was just a coincidence. This is supported by the 64th episode of the anime, titled “It’s Mr. Mime Time,”where Delia mistakenly believes the Pokemon to be Ash in a costume. Subsequently, the young trainer is able to capture Mr. Mime off-screen.

Despite this, many viewers of Pokemon Horizon were convinced that this was not a mistake. One Reddit user stated, “It was not their doing, it was deliberate.”Another expressed, “Although it may not be them, it is definitely an intentional reference. I personally believe a Mime Jr. would have been a fascinating origin for Mimey.”

The community was rocked by the announcement that Ash Ketchum would be departing from the Pokemon anime, which caused a stir when it was initially disclosed.

Despite the initial adjustment, the response to the new protagonists Liko and Roy, as well as the overall Pokemon Horizons series, has been largely positive.
