Pokemon Legends Z-A: The Controversy Surrounding Z Mega Evolutions

Mega Evolutions will be making a comeback in Pokemon Legends Z-A, causing concern among fans due to a recurring pattern that may result in further appearances of two excessively featured Pokemon.

One of the greatest aspects of Mega Evolution is its ability to revitalize existing Pokemon while staying true to the established rules of the series. This allowed for lesser known or weaker Pokemon to be given a fresh start.

Nevertheless, a few Pokedex entries have been excessively featured. Charizard and Mewtwo were each given two Mega Evolutions, known as X and Y, in reference to the titles of the games they first appeared in.

As we anticipate the release of Legends Z-A, there is concern among users on Reddit that the duo may receive supposed ‘Z’ Mega Evolutions.

“Some users expressed their belief that no matter what fans may want, Game Freak will ultimately include another Charizard in Z-A. Others saw the potential addition of Charizard-Z as a humorous and clever move by the company, acknowledging that it would be a “troll”move that they would applaud.”

Another user expressed their fondness for Charizard and their desire to see new Mega and Primal forms for various other Pokémon such as Dragonite, Machamp, Haxorous, Arceus, Dialga, Giratina, and Palkia. They also mentioned that there may be other Pokémon they would like to see receive these forms as well.

One user humorously remarked, “Do you not understand? The Z-A actually represents the number of Mega Charizards we will receive, with one corresponding to each letter.”

Despite being featured in numerous mediums, Charizard and Mewtwo remain highly popular among fans throughout the franchise. Their appearances in the anime and Trading Card Game continue to drive sales, as fans eagerly purchase merchandise featuring their iconic faces.

Despite the mechanic debuting in their games, there are numerous Pokemon from the Kalos region that deserve Mega Evolutions but have not received them.

It seems almost certain that Mega Charizard Z and Mewtwo Z will make an appearance. It wouldn’t be unexpected for Mega Charizard A and Mewtwo A to also join them. However, there has been a great anticipation for new Mega Evolutions and adding more representation of the Gen 1 Titans in the games is not necessary.
