Pokemon players reveal rarest Pokemon in their collection

Devoted Pokemon enthusiasts are proudly displaying their collection of rare creatures that they have obtained throughout the years, often as a result of unintentional errors or special situations.

Pokemon X & Y greatly enhanced the online features from Generation 4. This resulted in a significant increase in the ease of trading for previously unobtainable Pokemon. However, this also had the consequence of decreasing the overall rarity of Pokemon.

Despite the abundance of Pokemon, there are still a few that remain incredibly elusive, and this is not including the rare Shiny versions. In fact, certain Pokemon, such as Spiky-Eared Pichu, are unable to be transferred to the modern games as it was never included in the subsequent releases after being introduced in Gen 4.

Shiny Pokemon offer an additional level of rarity, exemplified by the Safari Zone Chansey with its exceptionally low encounter rate and capture likelihood. It’s important not to overlook Shiny Vespiquen, which can only be obtained by encountering a female Shiny Combee, a rare spawn in comparison to its male counterparts.

A member of the Pokemon subreddit made a post requesting fellow fans to share their most elusive captures. These include the Mew that was exclusively distributed to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console editions of Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow, and was only obtainable at Pokemon Sun & Moon launch events.

Several exclusive Pokemon were distributed exclusively during designated occasions, such as the Aura Mew in Pokemon Emerald, Ho-Oh and Lugia during the Pokemon Rocks America tour, and the Arceus distributed at Gamestop events.

There are individuals who also allege to possess Mew from the original Pokemon distribution events. However, due to battery degradation and the inability to trade them forward, it is highly probable that these are no longer available.

The Shiny hunters are known for their dedication, with certain individuals boasting of obtaining Shadow Gen 2 starters from Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, the Shiny Legendary Beast trio, and even Shiny gender-locked evolution Pokemon such as Salandit.

Despite the prevalence of online trading and regular Mythical & Legendary distribution events, there are still highly sought-after rare Pokemon that cannot be easily obtained in modern games, making them highly desired by collectors.
