A clever Pokémon Scarlet & Purple player did the impossible and managed to capture a shiny Pokémon that would normally have been lost.
Most Pokémon players would go out of their way to catch a shiny, with these elusive creatures being incredibly difficult to find, even in titles like Pokémon Scarlet & Purple.
However, one thing players don’t want is to encounter a shiny that they can’t catch, thus wasting all their luck in one futile moment. Pokémon Scarlet & Purple introduce a new mechanic called Synchrotron, allowing players to walk around as Pokémon, and even come across a shiny.
The main problem is that if you stray too far from your trainer and encounter a shiny, it will be lost by the time you trade with your Pokémon again and return to where you saw it. Such an event happened to a trainer, but he managed to fool the game and capture a shiny anyway.

Pokémon Scarlet & Purple player – and content creator, Shiny Catherine, shared a video on X (Twitter), detailing an excellent technique when faced with an impossible shiny after going too far with the Synchrotron feature.

As shown in the video, Shiny Catherine was walking around The Terarium in Pokémon Scarlet & Purple: The Indigo Disc, and while using the Synchrotron to float around as shiny Latias, she came across a shiny Warrior Eagle.
Considering they were quite a distance from their trainer while exploring, normally this shiny would be considered lost, but instead, Shiny Catherine slowly blocked and gathered the Shiny Warrior Eagle, over an extremely slow period of time.
Many Pokémon fans share their admiration in the comments, with one person saying, “So you’ve become something of a sheepdog.”That’s it. I am registering the trademark for this hunting method.»
Another comment just below adds: “YOU JUST GATHERED A FUCKING WAGLE”before another comment said: “Talking about shepherds in Pokémon. Congratulations!»
