Iron Leaves will once again be appearing in 5-Star Tera Raid Battles. If you’re hoping to capture this rare Paradox Pokemon and include it on your Scarlet & Violet team, the following moveset is recommended.
The Scarlet & Violet expansion introduced Paradox Pokemon as both ancient and future versions of existing Pokemon. While many can be encountered in Area Zero, certain ones, like Iron Leaves, can only be obtained through special events.
Iron Leaves, the evolved form of Virizion, can only be acquired through participating in 5-Star Tera Raids during special events in Pokemon Violet. If you intend to capture this powerful Grass/Psychic-type creature when it returns to the game from April 26, 2024, until May 7, 2024, here is the recommended moveset for optimal performance.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Best Moveset for Iron Leaves
POKEMON | MOVESET | ABILITY | NATURE | HELD ITEM | TERA TYPE |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
– Protect– Psyblade– Leaf Blade– Close Combat | Quark Drive | Jolly (+Spe / -Sp. ATK) | Booster Energy | Grass |
This strategy aims to enhance Iron Leaves’ Attack strength by utilizing the Quark Drive ability found in all Paradox Pokemon. This ability increases the Pokemon’s highest stat (Attack, in this case) by 30% when Electric Terrain is active or when the Pokemon is equipped with Booster Energy.
When it comes to the moves, Leaf Blade stands out as one of the top Grass-type moves due to its high Critical Hit rate and the added bonus of STAB and the chosen Tera Type. Psyblade is also a powerful physical move that can take advantage of Iron Leaves’ secondary Psychic type. Additionally, Close Combat provides excellent coverage against Steel-type opponents, while Protect helps to ensure your safety.
We suggest choosing the Grass Tera Type since Leaf Blade holds greater significance compared to Psyblade.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Iron Leaves alternative build
POKEMON | MOVESET | ABILITY | NATURE | HELD ITEM | TERA TYPE |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
– Swords Dance– Psyblade– Leaf Blade– Close Combat | Quark Drive | Jolly (+Spe / -Sp. ATK) | Focus Sash | Psychic |
If you want to try a different build for Iron Leaves, you could opt for a Psychic Tera Type to enhance Psyblade instead of Leaf Blade.
Furthermore, switching the held item from Booster Energy to Focus Sash can bolster the Pokemon’s minimal Defense stat, allowing it to endure attacks for a longer period of time.
Lastly, you have the option to replace Protect with Swords Dance, which will increase its Attack stat by two stages. This move also complements Psyblade well.
