Understanding Mass Outbreaks in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Mass Outbreaks are specific events that feature a sudden surge of a particular Pokémon species in designated areas, significantly increasing the likelihood of encountering Shiny variants. These outbreaks are an exceptional opportunity for trainers to enhance their Pokédex entries and hunt for unique Pokémon with rare Marks.

Current Mass Outbreak Events

The ongoing Mass Outbreak event features Tinkatink, which can be found across the Paldea region from November 29 to December 5, 2024. Capturing these Tinkatink may yield the Ferocious Mark.

Additionally, a Chansey Mass Outbreak will run from November 29, 2024, to January 5, 2025. This event is particularly beneficial for experience points, as capturing or defeating Chansey greatly aids in leveling up.

Upcoming Mass Outbreak Events

Several exciting Mass Outbreaks are scheduled to continue through the end of 2024:

  • Wooper will be available during the Kitakami event from December 6 to December 12, potentially featuring the Absent-Minded Mark.
  • A Girafarig Mass Outbreak will occur at Blueberry Academy from December 13 to December 16, with this species having a chance to possess the Intellectual Mark.
  • On December 20, 2024, until January 5, 2025, players can encounter Cetoddle, Carbink, and Fraxure during a special event coinciding with Shiny Rayquaza in Tera Raids.
