Pokemon TCG Pocket Players Resort to Extreme Strategies for Disappointing Blastoise Event Pulls

In the gaming community surrounding Pokémon TCG Pocket, concerns are growing among players regarding their ability to collect all promo cards before the conclusion of the Blastoise Drop Event. Despite receiving high praise and exceeding sales forecasts, the game still has several minor quality-of-life issues that players are eager to see addressed.

One notable frustration comes from the reliance on coin-flip mechanics in numerous popular cards, which can lead to excruciatingly long waiting periods during battles as animations play out. Furthermore, players are expressing discontent with a cumbersome menu navigation process that complicates the straightforward task of opening card packs. These inconveniences have become increasingly evident during the high-stakes Blastoise Drop Event, making it even more challenging for players to obtain every desired card.

Frustrations with Auto-Battle Features

The ongoing Blastoise Drop Event introduces an array of new cards, including Volcarona, Cinccino, Eevee, Snivy, and Blastoise. Participants earn the opportunity to receive these cards by defeating AI opponents, leading to a coin flip that determines their pack-pulling success.

However, many players have taken to platforms like Reddit to voice their grievances. One user reported battling 75 times without successfully acquiring a Volcarona card, reflecting a broader sense of dissatisfaction among the player base concerning low return rates from battles.

While the option for auto-battle allows players to engage in passive play—letting the game automatically handle combat—this feature has not alleviated the monotony. “The auto-battle button has seen a lot of action in this event,”remarked one player. However, even auto-battling is no guarantee of victory, as the AI can make unpredictable choices that hinder success. For instance, one commenter lamented, “I’m auto-battling with Pikachu ex/Electrode, and somehow the game finds ways to make sure you lose advantage in the easiest games to win ever.”

With time running out, as the Blastoise Drop Event concludes on January 15, players must act quickly to secure the remaining cards in their collections if they have not already done so.
