Pokemon YouTubers manage a “hilarious” 8-player Nuzlocke

A multiplayer Pokemon Nuzlocke is already challenging, yet a team of 8 Pokemon YouTubers recently accomplished the seemingly impossible task of completing a Nuzlocke together.

Have you ever attempted a multiplayer Nuzlocke challenge? The original Nuzlocke rules are already challenging in any Pokemon game, but involving other players can make it incredibly difficult.

For those who are not familiar, Nuzlockes are challenges initiated by players in which they are only allowed to encounter one Pokemon per route. Additionally, if a Pokemon faints during battle, it is permanently eliminated. Other rules and variations, such as not using items in battle, can add even more difficulty to the experience.

Multiplayer Nuzlockes demand extensive preparation, teamwork, and a considerable amount of luck. Typically, participants rotate in completing Gym Badges and strategize (or hinder) for the next player’s upcoming Gym challenge.

A remarkable feat was achieved by a team of YouTubers who took on a challenge that appeared nearly unattainable. They successfully completed an 8-player Nuzlocke run in Pokemon Platinum, taking turns to pass the game between each other.

A group of popular YouTubers including PointCrow, Alpharad, CDawgVA, RTGame, Ludwig, PokemonChallenges, SmallAnt, and CaptainKiddYt teamed up to collaborate on a massive Nuzlocke challenge. Together, they worked towards the goal of getting PointCrow to the Elite Four and Champion fight, and remarkably, they were successful. The final blow was delivered by an Abomnasnow, making it one of the most intriguing and recently released Nuzlocke runs to date.

It was a thrill for many Pokemon players to witness the team’s victory in such a challenging battle. In the comments, one individual described the chaotic run as a “perfectly crafted tale full of unexpected twists and turns”. This description accurately summarizes the amusing combination of mischief and teamwork that led to their triumph.

Despite varying levels of success, a number of YouTubers made attempts to sabotage the player that followed them. As pointed out by a viewer, the Nuzlocke community can be best described by the conflicting thoughts of “This is a big risk but hopefully, it will pay off”and “This is a children’s game, it will be fine”.

If you are new to Nuzlocke challenges, it is highly recommended that you give it a try. Starting with an 8-player Nuzlocke may not be the most beginner-friendly, but choosing a game such as Fire Red or Platinum and setting up a run is a great way to start your Nuzlocke journey.

If you’re planning on taking on the challenge, it’s best to avoid games such as Scarlet & Violet or Legends Arceus for the time being. The overworld mechanics and structures in these games make Nuzlocking more challenging, so it’s important to have thorough preparation and planning beforehand.
