For nearly a decade, the renowned Twitch personality has remained in the limelight, sharing countless insights about her journey.
In August, Pokimane disclosed her decision to leave a so-called “cringe” celebrity dating application after it denied her instant access. Just weeks later, she disclosed an “influential” proposition from YouTube that nearly diverted her path away from Twitch entirely.
On October 6, 2024, Pokimane spoke out about a frightening incident following the leak of her and her friend’s phone numbers online, during which she received a menacing call containing threats.
“Essentially, my phone number got exposed, and they managed to obtain my friend Ray’s number too. They spoofed Ray’s number, meaning that they could manipulate the caller ID to disguise their number,” she explained.
“They rang me, and since they had access to Ray’s number, they made it appear as if she was calling. My phone indicated it was my friend Ray. I answered, and a deep, bizarre voice said, ‘Pokimane, I’m coming to r*pe you right now.’”

Pokimane elaborated that unsettling phone calls like this have made her reluctant to share her number with new acquaintances.
“I’ve reached a point where I have to ask new people I meet, ‘Please don’t call me.’ I’ve experienced trauma from phone conversations,” she said.
“Now, I reserve calls for very particular situations, and whenever I receive a call, I automatically panic, thinking it must be an emergency or something bad.”
This isn’t the first time Pokimane has recounted troubling phone number experiences on her podcast with LilyPichu. On September 21, she shared a tale involving a man’s text that led his wife to contact her.
“She began scolding me over the phone. Honestly, I’ve had terrible encounters with random callers before. She wouldn’t let me say a word, and I was so stunned and scared that I just hung up,” she recounted.
