Pokimane recently recounted a “traumatic” incident stemming from her phone number being leaked online.
The popular Twitch streamer debuted her podcast with LilyPichu, titled Sweet n Sour, on September 14, 2024, which quickly gained attention from fans.
During the podcast’s second episode on September 21, the two internet sensations discussed “unhinged fan stories.” Pokimane opened up about her unsettling experience related to her leaked phone number.
“I have like three numbers connected to my phone. There’s a super personal one that hasn’t been leaked yet, and I have some alternative ones that I might give out at a store. That’s generally the number that gets leaked,” she explained.
“I received a text on that number that said, ‘Hey, Are you up?’ There’s no one who should be texting me that.”
Pokimane further clarified that she keeps track of every phone number she’s encountered, allowing her to recognize that the text certainly wasn’t from anyone she knew. Though she chose to ignore the message, she received a phone call two days later from an angry wife.
“She asked, ‘Why are you texting my husband? Why did my husband text you?’ As I began to explain myself, she started going off. She said, ‘You have no idea how bad of a person he is.’ She just starts berating me,” she continued.
“She kept shouting at me over the phone, and I’ve had really unpleasant experiences with random callers. When she didn’t let me speak, I felt too shocked and scared to respond, so I just hung up.”

After ending the call, the wife proceeded to create a group chat with her husband to discuss her grievances.
“She started the chat by sending a picture of her husband and said, ‘Look at his stupid face. Is this the person you were texting? Is this the person you were planning to meet up with?’” Pokimane mentioned. “Initially, I found it intriguing, but I quickly became frightened so I blocked them both.”
This isn’t the first intense story Pokimane has shared on her podcast. In the first episode, she disclosed that she passed up a “life-changing” offer to stream exclusively on YouTube in order to stay loyal to Twitch.
