Pokimane’s Reaction to Viewers Using Stolen Credit Cards to Bid $500K to Game with Her

Pokimane has addressed the situation of viewers potentially using stolen credit cards to bid $500K in order to play a game with her.

CDawgVA, a well-known Twitch streamer and YouTuber, will be holding his yearly charity auction on July 19, 2024. This year, the event will include a few pre-auction opportunities for fans to participate in.

The auction for a gaming session with Pokimane attracted a lot of attention, with bids soaring up to $500,000. However, the platform hosting the auctions discovered that several bids were fraudulent and had to be removed.

After learning about the fake bids, Pokimane responded by expressing her relief that the platform had limited the bids to a certain amount.

“According to her, there were people who bid with stolen credit cards for up to half a million dollars, but she was relieved that the bidding was capped at that amount.”

“There seemed to be a problem with the verification process, as it allowed people to bid without proper verification.”

She continued to express her belief that the bid remained an “outrageous”sum, with the current amount reaching an enormous $30,200.

Pokimane added, “I am thrilled that the proceeds will be going to charity. It feels amazing to be able to do something good and I am also excited for the show.”

CDawgVA criticized those who submitted false bids, describing the behavior as “cringe-worthy.”

“He expressed his distaste for faking donations to charity, stating that there is nothing more pitiful than pretending to give money to those in need. In his opinion, it is a truly sorrowful act.”

“What would be the reason behind your involvement in committing fraud by placing a false bid in a charity auction?”

Every year, the profits from the auction are donated to the Immune Deficiency Foundation, an organization that provides “resources, education, and support” for individuals with primary immunodeficiency.

The charity auction in 2023 generated a total of $343K, including $14K donated specifically to Make-A-Wish.
