The Bangbae Police Station in Seoul confirmed on August 29th that they are currently investigating a report received in June regarding Taeil’s sexual crime allegations.
The police have stated that the victim, who has been identified as Ms. A, is an adult woman. However, they have not disclosed any specific details regarding the allegations or the timing of the crime.
On August 28, Taeil’s agency, SM Entertainment, released an official statement confirming that Taeil had been charged with a sexual crime and announced his departure from the group.
According to SM Entertainment, it has been confirmed that Taeil has been charged with a sexual crime. After conversations with Taeil, it has been decided that he will no longer be a member of the group.
“We would like to inform that Taeil is fully cooperating with the police investigation and we will continue to provide updates as the investigation unfolds. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by our artist.”
Taeil joined NCT in 2016 as a member of its first unit, NCT U. He has also been involved in the main NCT group and as a part of NCT 127.
